HK Verma, an alumnus of FTII, is a renowned cinematographer who earlier in his career collaborated with celebrated cinematographer KK Mahajan on many great films by Mani Kaul, Mrinal Sen, Basu Chatterjee, and Kumar Shahani.

He has been a visiting faculty of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Cinema), and FTII (History of Cinema).

He also authored the book – THE DREAM FACTORY : 100 YEARS OF HINDI CINEMA ]
